There is much to learn about the Middle East, but once you dive into the history, you see the patterns. Yet people who don’t inform themselves are a massive challenge: A family member of mine (German) was seriously suggesting Iran should be destroyed (!) as it was about to destroy Israel, a statement that makes you wonder where it’s coming from—and is clear whom it serves. But it’s three things the public in the west are dealing with: ignorance, hasbara, and—racism. #middleeast #israel #iran
