Fascinating story about blunders in use of DNA evidence in investigations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9okaPzpVhmM Apparently for years German/European police have tried to track down a female "phantom killer" whose DNA would keep popping up in crime scenes all over Germany as well as Austria and France. They thought it must be some super powerful scary criminal as this woman was linked to a high number of accomplices (all men) who'd be identified at the crime scenes, yet none of them would give any information about her. She was linked to crimes as old as 1993 and as recent as 2007. In the end, it came out that the DNA belonged to a woman working at the factory producing the cotton swabs used to gather DNA evidence. :blobcat-joy:
