While in Canada I did some research about what Canadians are actually concerned about regarding the USA somehow annexing Canada. And while doing that, I learned about how the USA annexed Mexico.
And suddenly… I’m so much more angry about every aspect of the anti Mexican shit that’s been going on.
Like did you know that the USA bought more than half of Mexico in the mid 1800s for the modern equivalent of $600M？
And they did that because the USA had invaded Mexico?

Remember the Alamo? Yeah so that happened in part because Mexico was trying to kick out USA settlers they were renting land to, after they refused to follow Mexico’s law outlawing slavery. I’ve learned about the motto “We didn’t cross the border. The border crossed us.” This fucking country.
