Also I asked my cousins why they never mentioned great grandpa, but always spoke about "a coh" which is the matriarch of the family. They look puzzled, as if the thought has never occured to them that they should ever mention him lol. Peranakan families are matriachical, which meant the women rule the house, the men are just there to bring back the money 😆.
