There is a corvid that holds onto the flat brick wall of my neighbours house and appears to be (over several days) eating a brick.
1) why?
2) should I try to flap it away before it eats through?
3) what corvid is it that has the black beak and is about the size of a cat?

@solderandchaos crow, raven or jackdaw? Not sure why it's trying to eat the brick though. All the magpies around here are trying to carry sticks several times their body length to make nests with.
