Nah. Got one of these at home, here in .nl. Even my quite elderly plumber knows how to install them. They're expensive, sure, but _totally_ worth it, and easily available.
(I've never been to Japan, of course, flying is scary on so many levels, but got recommended this when we wanted to install a French-style separate bidet.)

@halla definitely worth the price, even the absurdly-high cost of a toto. having that slightly warmed seat along with a nicely warmed spray on a deeply frosted morning is life-changing
