From AP News: 'GOP officials dismissive of protests White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson called them the product of “leftist funding networks” with little real public support. The “only people who care about these Trump Derangement Therapy Sessions are the reporters who are paid to cover them,” Jackson said in a statement. The National Republican Congressional Committee was also sharply critical. “These Hate America Rallies are where the far-left’s most violent, deranged fantasies get a microphone,” spokesperson Maureen O’Toole said."' What did I say yesterday? They don't fucking care. Their heads are *all* the way up their own asses. Chants and footsteps will not affect them. *Real* action is necessary. We have to take the energy raised by #NoKings and DO something with it. We have to make them afraid. We cannot sit back and pat outselves on the back now. This has to be the start, not the end.

  • @BaronessWinter yep! like the Jan ICE protests here we need to ride this into a general strike, shutting down for just a handful of days in mostly just one state caused enough of a panic from corporate America that they actually had to pull back and re-assess if it was worth it what they were doing here. Imagine what a REAL general strike would do. There's nothing they fear more than the loss of money.

  • @BaronessWinter Wholly agree. Eight million people showed up and Republicans are calling it small. Next step sounds like funneling all that No Kings energy into a general strike on May Day. One can hope people take it seriously. https://www.commondreams.org/news/no-kings-general-strike
