BTW, as you read this, note that Mastodon does not have the limits I write about. The whole post is here, including links. They could do a little better, but this is a huge advantage that Mastodon has, thanks to the open power of ActivityPub.

@davew@mastodon.social a bit rich of the author to say that Bluesky needs to adopt long form text in order to not lose users. I think Twitter, Snapchat, Vine, and Tiktok have proven beyond a doubt that a lot of people prefer short-form content. I think a large part of Bluesky's user base is there because of the content limits, not in spite of them. I wish it weren't true.
