My wife, business partners & I know Mark Schaible, John Monnett and their families & employees at Sonex Aerospace very well; we've done lots of contract engineering for them; they were our first clients. Good, honest White folk that we had no problem doing work for under typical industry rates, because Whites help Whites, full stop. They made decent, safe & reliable aircraft kits.
To that end, we're extremely proud of our work on their products seen below, all of which I've personally flown.
We got the heads-up earlier today that they were shutting down. This news is heartbreaking, because none of us had any idea they were in dire straights....and we feel powerless to do anything.

Unfortunate but not surprising. These types of aircraft are mostly a very expensive luxury good targeted at a shrinking demographic that's also getting poorer. There just aren't enough (mostly White) people who can afford this stuff.
