a little from our current practitioner in residence @neopostmodern: During his residency Berlin-based media artist Clemens Schöll is developing his project "Artist at work 4.0". Clemens is upcycling an old 3D printer into an autonomous Instagram-operating robot. Fitted with a copper-tipped silicone replica of his hand it will scroll and interact on his behalf. The kinetic installation is a counter-automation approach of self-defense against hostile yet seemingly necessary platforms. It empowers to renegotiate the terms of online and social interaction: should individuals be allowed to automate activity against the platforms' will? What legitimacy does automation have in social interaction in face of the artifical sociality of "social" media?
