"downloading the osm map onto my phone" would work a lot better if i ever remembered to do that *before* travelling.

this post brought to you by using google maps for its route planner and the inaccurate markings of footpaths with dead ends (which are correctly marked in osm!) causing me to miss the train.

@timezone can recommend simply having all of the EU (+ a little more) downloaded; it doesn’t even take up that much space
