The #receptiogate scandal finally has a proper official verdict confirming plagiarism, per Oliver Schneider in Tages Anzeiger (Switzerland). Background: A Swiss adjunct prof named Carla Rossi collected grant money (tens of thousands in Swiss Francs) for books that were remarkably similar to other books and websites, including work by the admired British codicologist Peter Kidd. He objected; Rossi (and anon minions online) insulted Kidd and threatened lawsuits. Now, after 3 years, the Federal Administrative Court in St. Gall concluded that large sections of the works contained phrasing from other sources that had not been properly cited, and the funding agency (SNSF) has demanded the repayment of the grant funds. The court ruled that for 2 of 3 books, Rossi committed "egregious scientific misconduct" and showed "a fundamentally flawed understanding" of plagiarism.
