You don't want me to _actually_ be good at estimating effort.
If I could accurately estimate effort, I wouldn't do ANYTHING.
I only do two types of jobs:
- Quick 20 min job. bang bang, in and out.
- "Quick 20 min job. bang bang, in and out." that actually turns out to be a multi-week effort spanning seven different disciplines only two of which I actually know anything about when I start
