I welcome the current movements towards #digitalSovereignty , but I would like to see anything published on the subject from an individual standpoint. Personal digital sovereignty, if you will. As in not trusting my government, my state, or any corporate cloud. I'm moving my data onto #homecloud with all possible haste, because a thought occurred to me.
I own my #homecloud. I own my data. What I do not own, nor do the providers own, is all of the infrastructure in between. 1/2

@JeanieBurrell@mstdn.social Possibly relevant: I recently started doing off-site backup of my data to a commercial cloud storage service (Leviia), but I use rclone to encrypt everything on client-side, and don't give the cloud service provider the decryption keys. 1/2
