I encourage everyone to try installing Windows 7 on a virtual machine for a little play. Give the machine ~4 cores and ~4 GB of RAM, and fiddle with built-in programs. See how every single one opens INSTANTLY, how they all keep the same uniform style, and how calm and clean yet visual their UI/UX feels. Of course, it is not for actual usage, but you will experience a stunning, almost uncanny contrast with today's software. Yes, a modern Linux distro would also be nice and clean, but it won't have the same punch as a Windows-to-Windows comparison.
