@reverendstanley The only situations where the bifacial panels would be better are if you mount them upright. Eg, east-west so they catch morning and evening sun would be a good suppliment for some south facing panels. If you're laying them flat or south facing, bifacial gain will usually be minimal. Bear in mind that the main reason bifacial panels are common in the US market is they happen to get around a solar panel tariff on a technicality.
