Gen 1 is absolutely not the "peak of all gaming" like some seem to think it is (genuinely barely any mechanics in that game work, you can lose fights because of not knowing the game is outright lying to you). At the same time, some of the games are pretty fun. I'll die on the hill of Legends Arceus being good. But then you have Scarlet/Violet which, while it has interesting aspects, I couldn't bring myself to get past the tutorial with how utterly tedious it is.
