Some people get their personality traits from their mothers rather than their fathers or paracetamol.
Some people get their personality traits from both of their parents.
Perhaps the last sentence of your lovely poem could read:
"from your forebears"
...as sometimes the clear autistic traits can skip a generation.
Either actually skip a generation or because the parents have other personality traits that allow them to mask very effectively.

@the_wub@mastodon.social @VeryBadLlama@mas.to In defense of the last line: The US claim is yet another "blame the moms" thing, so a "nah, you having solid interests was not me taking meds, it's from your (undiagnosed) trainspotter dad, the lovable nerd I'm with" is validating for both kid and dad :) I read the poem as exasperated with bullshit, not seeing autism as a negative, nor claiming there's a single lineage.
