I was following a conversation here and one of the comments was Linux is a OS affordable to people who are finding Win and Mac beyond their means. Can''t remember who's. The massive costs AI is placing on memory, is increasing the costs of computers, making them more unattainable for tighter budgets. Distro hopping has taught me a Linux system can fit on a 60g USB drive. Both ideas lead me to speculate on a new type of computer set up. What if we got rid of a computer in a box and made a platform for monitors, keyboard, mouse, network, and USB ports. Besides a minimal memory to operate the box, the OS is on the USB. You could take your USB computer with you and plug in to any one of these platforms. I imagine this has many advantages ans disadvantages, but it's permanent, more comfortable to 'work', and you wouldn't have to be squinting using your phone.
