RE: https://mendeddrum.org/@Nikkileah/116267856895489571 I'm sorry, but Pratchett's books should be un-ban-able. They SHOULD be, anyway! Soul Music? REALLY?

@recantha The fact they haven’t banned more of them shows exactly how many they have read. I cant imagine a number of TP's characters sitting well with most of those in authority. Many of course will go without comment, as they rely on analogy/humour rather than being a direct attack on authority, religion, sex/gender, capitalism, racism, exploitation, greed, management, institution, [insert all remaining sins of our leaders here] :)

@recantha I wonder if they banned any that are actually books that exam board have approved / use as options for GCSEs.

@recantha That's insane. But it sounds like a one off, with a lunatic headteacher using AI to categorise books, rather than something legislative like in certain US states. "she spoke to the School Library Association (SLA), the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) and their School Libraries Group (SLG), to get their support behind the scenes. The SLG were utterly shocked and said it is completely unprecedented."
