“Oxygène” by Jean-Michel Jarre is such a perfect album. If you’ve never heard it, do yourself a treat, it’s just 40 minutes long.
Then once you’ve finished it, ponder the fact that this was recorded in *1976* in a *studio apartment*. Visualise a tiny Parisian flat filled with bulky synthesizers, recording equipment, and dirty dishes piling up. Just wild.

@layoutSubviews@mastodon.social He thought it was hilarious that reviewers assumed he'd created it in this cutting-edge, high-tech studio, while in fact he'd done (IIRC) most of the editing at the kitchen table. Still one of the most perfect albums ever recorded.
