My partner is away for a week on a very well-deserved break with a friend. As always, it makes me realise just how much they do, and that I possibly take for granted. I *am* on top of keeping the kitchen clean, doing the laundry and so on and so forth, but it's been very hard work for me. They do a lot of this when I've gone to bed (we have hugely different sleeping schedules), so a lot of the time, I just come down at 6am and the kitchen has magically cleaned itself, the dishwasher is magically clean and just needs emptying, and my coffee is magically ground and cold-brewed. The laundry often hangs itself by magic as well. We split the chores in something that feels equitable due to varying skillsets/responsibilities etc, but honestly - it can never hurt to notice and say thank you for the things that the other one does.
