When spending ~500 M€ of European public money on an #HPC cluster from a US company, use of said machine is subject not just to EU and national laws, but also to US export regulations and sanctions:

@civodul Same applies with some high end electronics parts, FADC, FPGA, etc. specially at high volume. This includes requirements for not exporting derived products to some third party countries.
