So, we're planning on doing our BSc thesis on periods in transfem people since, last we checked, there wasn't any formal research on that as far as we could tell, n we'd like the scientific n medical community being aware this's a thing that can happen. Need two people who oversee the thesis n write an assessment on't when it's done. Already got the biopsychology professor from our uni (HU Berlin) on board (Sebastian Markett), but he said, the second being should ideally be someone w prior experience w research on transgender people, in the interest'a making sure design n communication're in such a way that we can act make an impact on the wider research community.
Ideally it'd be someone working in life sciences (medicine/biology/psychology or related fields, ftr this's gonna be a psychology paper formally, but ofc the topics touched're relevant for those other fields too), n I think it'd help having a promotion or habilitation, but at the very least a Master's degree or diploma. Does that sound like ya, or know anyone like that? Get in touch, DM here, on Signal (@artemis.17) or email transfemperiods@artemislena.eu !
Some general design notes: Gonna establish theoretical background based on research on periods in AFAB beings, gonna conduct an online survey for transfem beings, asking e.g. for hormones taken, period symptoms, n happiness w transition, n calculating some correlations (precise hypotheses still gotta be established based on yet-to-be-done theoretical research), checking for significance.
The time frame where we'd conduct the main research n submit our thesis'd be ideally next summer semester since we have internships coming up this winter semester, but might be as late as winter semester 26/27 given that the aforementioned Prof. Markett might not've time before that.
