It would be nice to have a big covered porch. Don't think it would work here though. We have about 2 weeks in the spring and maybe another 2 in the fall when it would pleasant enough to sit outside in a rocker. Torrid jungle levels of bugs come out with the start of spring, and most of the summer is like a sauna with only slightly less insects.

That was the style one hundred years ago and more though before ac. Some of them were screened in. Only way to escape the heat was go outside with the bugs
