Last survey of Beartooth Hwy from 2300m closure, on up was 3/05. Only able to hike partway in 2nd switchback, soft knee-deep slush protected gulch. Otherwise completely bare til then, 2500m. Lots new rocks on road. Warmest ever MAR certainly is apparent in loss of snowpack near start, thinner above to top of Plateaus, 3200m +. Mild windy 12C at 2300m, but 2 troughs coming will help bring more ❄️ this week. 2nd one Thu/Fri most promising here. #climate #hiking #dogs #montana #gye
