@evgandr I recently cancelled a life insurance. Due to money laundering regulations they need to confirm the bank account before paying the miniscule amount of money I get back from them. They asked to send photos of me and my wife's ATM cards (which also function as debit cards - like a credit card) via email.

WTF 🤯 Google wanted me to give them my phone number in order to download my data, but didn't require it to delete the account — I was deleting my account precisely because 90% of the time I couldn't get in without giving them my phone number. I got away downloading my messages over IMAP. By current standards my Google affair doesn't seem that bad. Video selfie FFS… 😩
