Not to be another game designer praising Dark Souls but: wow this game solidified that I never want voice chat with random gamers ever again in my life. We have a better way. A friend was talking about their strategy for how to speak in Valorant voice chat to have the best experience. My dude, my idea of gaming isn&#39;t having to work the room in order to not be called a slur.

Extremely amusing to me that Valorant competitive strategy encompasses: A) how to approach 2 bomb sites as a team of 5, and B) how to strike up a bro-friendly conversation with the meanest kid on the playground (I know, there's a deeper conversation about how voice chat has changed between the days of CounterStrike community servers, and Valorant matchmaking. How it used to be easier to make friends before matchmaking with strangers you'll never see again became the norm.) Anyway:

@protowlf@mastodon.gamedev.place I'm going to be typing anyways because I dislike talking to my computer with my voicem it just feels very unnatural. and yes I also avoid telephones (when i can) for the same reason.
