If you have the stomach for a tragedy film I urge you to watch Zielona granica ("Green Border", 2023), on the current situation of the Belarus/Poland refugee abuse zone. This is what they are trying to set up at the Egyptian border for the Palestinians who manage to survive the Israeli attempt at ethnic cleansing; this is what they want to set up in the USA/Mexico border; this is the UK goal with Rwanda; this is what the laws to criminalise sea rescuers aim at with the Mediterranean. I expect borders and immigration to be *the* issue of the climate catastrophe age, and the high-tech genocide of Palestinians to be the opening salvo. There won't be space for half-measures and fence-sitting; we all will have to pick our sides, either you fight for open borders--open for all, for people you don't like, for Muslims, ex-cons, sex workers, so-called "economic immigrants"--or you will be complicit in the horror, hoarding the illusion of normalcy watered with the blood that runs down razor wire.
