Apparently hopes of peace talks in the middle east drove market optimism today. Allow me to remind folks that the light at the end of the tunnel may be an oncoming train.
Advancing stocks led declining stocks today, 60.8% to 34.5%. The major indexes agreed and all closed up:
DJIA +305.43 (+0.66%)
S&P 500 +35.53 (+0.54%)
NASDAQ +167.93 (+0.77%)
Russell 2000 +30.94 (+1.23%)
My portfolio failed to share in the optimism and I only gained 0.14% for the day, losing handily to all the indexes. But any gain is better than a loss, so I can't really complain.
