So, what do you call crane flies? I was raised calling them gallinippers, or sometimes mosquito hawks. I understand that in the UK, they are called daddy longlegs, which is reserved for an unrelated arachnid in the US. I ask because every spring, our house is occupied by hundreds of them, presumably seeking whatever light there is at night.
