I'm always impressed by the perspective-shifting powers of observing a playtest of your game. People talk about how you learn stuff because the tester will play differently from you, and that is true. But you also notice things that you ignored when you played it yourself. As an observer, your entire brain gets to focus on just noticing things that could be better, rather than attempting to play a game.
