@bontchev@infosec.exchange thanks for the link. Some reading keys for the figures : SP98: most cars can and do use SP95 in France - because cheaper. Total has a max prise cut offering (they do margin at raffineries they own - which makes SP98 (more efficient fuel) same price as the always cheaper SP95. Again, cars produced after 2001 use SP95 - and are compatible with the more expensive SP98 which exists still for older cars. Consequently, total does not distribute SP98 anymore as a choice as everyone was taking SP98 which was same price-cut level as SP95. Check at the bottom Total accounting for majority of gas stations with at least on type of fuel not available. Elan, a Total discount brand, is second on the list. I’m not doing any forecast of any upcoming shortage or not, though.
