I've started a new project on a server, where I can install R packages for the user, but I have no sudo right or nix available. Maaan... tarchetypes is not available for R 4.0. OK, I go and download an older tarball, R CMD INSTALL it. Next hurdle: this pipeline was last run with targets 0.10 (I'm on 1.whatever). So let's hope it runs, but who knows what other package is not the right version. How did we use computers before nix? And why would anybody want to do this??? Aaaa (just venting) #rstats #nix
