the push for age and identity verification is a direct consequence of the push to criminalize porn, which is a direct consequence of the push to label trans people as porn. these three fights are linked, and we won't win if we're only fighting one or two of them. don't like the destruction of privacy? then you have to fight for porn and trans people. don't like porn bans? then you have to fight for privacy and trans people. don't like transphobia? then you have to fight for privacy and porn. every attempt to fight for only one or two of these things has failed and will fail because people will compromise their fight for the things they want to stop the things they don't want. you have to fight for all of them.
