Maybe someone resourceful can find me a weight limit on Lexan or other polycarbonate when used as shelving? My brain is exhausted. I don't want to read "300 times stronger than glass", I want to know how many pounds of $THING I can put on a 4 foot span or whatever.

@inversephase@masto.hackers.town I found some calculators for acrylite (plexiglass/PMMA) but not lexan (PC): https://www.acrylite.co/resources/calculators This calculator https://awinet.org/tools/shelf-span/ will take the key material property (Modulus of Elasticity (in PSI)). This calculator seems to be doing area loads, and you can use it to solve for span or thickness. Unlike some material-specific calculators I found, it does not include a safety factor calculation. belateldy I found https://www.palram.com/us/calculators/ for polycarbonate I'm not enough of an engineer to be confident at interpreting or trying to verify any of these numbers 😕 good luck, we're all counting on you.
