So, my school I went to has a German exchange program available for students learning German, of course. My friend, who is still in school (we’re only two years apart) is planning on taking German. She really likes Germany now. It used to be Peru, then France, but she tends to hyperfixate on different countries as she is neurodivergent like me.
So, when it’s available in 2027 (she’ll start taking German in the 2026-2027 school year), I plan on telling her parents and surprising her by having them sign her up for the trip.
However, a lot could change in two years and she might not even like Germany or German as much by then but yeah.
Tchüss!

She should do the exchange even if she stops taking the language. If you can find away to spend time in another country do it. I lived in Germany for three years and I loved it.

I plan on telling her parents and surprising her by having them sign her up for the trip. If she wants to go to Germany, she can talk to her own parents. I can’t imagine any good reason for you to get involved and talk to her parents without her knowing. Maybe I’m missing some context, but seems like a lot of not-your-business.
