Miro, Spotify, Onenote and other apps want you to stay. They are carefully designed to make it hard to take your collection with you elsewhere.
One of the joys of using open alternatives such as Excalidraw, Obsidian or Navidrome instead, is that moving my collection is a matter of selecting a folder, copying it - and that's it.

2/2 Self-hosting can be a hassle, sure. But there's a difference in being treated like a baby by a company setting arbitrary restrictions on you, versus dealing with real problems you can actually learn from, and grow. #selfHosting

@stovis But is Obsidian really "free"? As I understand it, the client itself is not Open Source..
