@jb @iamthejeeves Matlab is a large engineering software tool and environment with its own language. It makes doing engineering calculations very accessible to people who know how to code. Very accessible. Turns what were once complicated analysis and design steps into procedural boilerplate. This offers a tremendous speed up and efficiency to the engineers that understand what it's doing. But a lot of programmers looked at it and said, This engineering stuff is easy, and proceeded to start larping as one. The results are similar to what these posts describe with vibe coding. The world didn't end but it did bite companies in the ass and led to failures that didn't have to happen.
