"People should just not do bad things when told to do them" is such an awful take when it comes to novel things not yet grounded in societal rules or legal precedent.
"Just quit and starve if you have to do AI" isn't going to solve anything.
"Just get another job if your company wants to track user behavior" there are no shortage of people who need the money enough to do this work.
Not everyone has enough privilege to say no, and that's by design.

Some people always clamor for collective bargaining because they like the bargaining part and forget the collective part. If you want to go against the evils in government or large corporations, you really need to build a large support network first. You know, a union.
