I also thought that the Cell processor was great technology at the time. But that was more from a distance and even IBM didn’t use their own architecture much although it was announced as one with server potential.

@iamlayer8 Yes, except in my experience it's not IT which decides but management. Add Peter principle and you've got an answer to why.

@iamlayer8 Some might rather see Netware and Notes as a lesser fit - though, the point is quite valid and can be supported with long lists of examples.
