RE: https://mastodon.social/@novafuture/116256215484589606 I’m not sure how exactly, but I feel like this is the best path forward for _all_ digital services (email, social, MVNO, etc). I just don’t know how to get this ball rolling though. It’s a hard ask to get people to use their finite paycheck to pay for something they can get for no/little money.

@zakatak Folks with no money or without "extra" money - won't be able to do this... and our current government is not going to create/run supportive programs. -- Like most anything in society - folks with money can do plenty. A segment of society with money will still only glom on to free services. -- Much like utilities (electric, heat, water)... folks without money are still struggling. -- I don't see any positive movement in our future... 😢

@zakatak You're right. But actually, you just started the movement by publicly sharing your thoughts on the subject. All good alternatives begin this way. As for the rest, how do we finance free services? What if these services became cooperatives in which users are truly involved?
