@zaire@fedi.absturztau.be control is just... not a good way to raise a kid? trying to control them only teaches them to be distrustful of you and finds ways to circumvent it. (well, there are times in life that's a good skill to have, but they shouldn't feel like they have to around their own parent(s), people they really should be able to trust) it's better to guide and teach. explain reasons for things! if they're old enough to use a computer on their own, they're old enough to discuss the dangers of doing so. it's irresponsible not to. if you don't want them to get addicted to the computer, you'd be amazed what giving them other things to do will do to combat that.
