@7073M@noauthority.social they've been trying to get it to work since the 80s. the fundamental problem (which there's really no solution to) is it's not possible to put enough energy into the target quickly enough to matter I don't think laser defense is ever going to be useful for more than destroying the sensors on drones or maybe taking down a hovering drone
