it seems like it had the potential to become an even cooler kinda place than fedi, but ultimately depending on a central dev team and funding absolutely fucked everyone involved.
and this is a tragedy. i can laugh in linux/foss all i want but that doesn't change the fact that people like me were seriously hurt by the space shutting down.

we must not celebrate or laugh at cohost's fate, however predictable it ultimately was... because it was least an attempt to create a space in which our values, or values close to ours, could flourish and grow.
