@casuist@poa.st unfortunately there will always be a GOP as long as America exists. The jews learned from the downfall of the Weimar Republic that you always need a controlled opposition party. If America became a one party state that could easily start a civil war. As far as the midterms, the GOP will probably lose the house and maybe a seat or two in the senate but still retain a majority. The 2028 elections could be a different story and I don't see how JD Vance overcomes the baggage of being so closely associated with Trump.

    @Terry@poa.st I hear you. This is likely, I suppose. But between here and there is a rapidly developing resource catastrophe and its attendant price shocks. I suspect more extreme outcomes. Counter-argument to my argument: Covid lockdowns provoked precisely nothing. Counter-argument to my counter-argument: But we could still buy things and gas stations still distributed gas.
