RE: https://mstdn.social/@aliide/116063325881607848 On the receiving end of this today: a Russian academic contacted me to discuss "emotional policymaking" in the Baltics without any recognition of the potential issues / complexities of a Russian conducting this research and imperial legacies in the region. I'm sure it would come up over the course of subsequent conversations but ignoring that it is indeed loaded in the initial email doesn't inspire me with hope that Baltic "grievances" will be dealt with sensitively. #imperialism #estonia #ussr
