#AWiderWorld #JukeboxFridayNight "Days Without Cigarettes" is an anthem of Taiwanese people born in the 50s and 60s (like my parents who showed it to me) written by one of the student leaders of the Tiananmen Square protests, Wan Dan, who used "cigarettes" as a metaphor for "emotional relief" to subtly & indirectly express the Taiwanese people's yearning for democracy & human rights, while still managing to bypass censorship laws for songs under martial law. https://youtu.be/wwRr_U2bu9Q?is=z509d2Uk4ZodJR5g
