• Agency layer: the maximum amount the business is willing to have exposed across all virtual cards during a defined period. • Client or account layer: the approved budget for one client, campaign, or project. • Vendor layer: the amount permitted for a specific platform, supplier, or category such as advertising, SaaS, travel, or production. • Card layer: the limit, merchant restrictions, and expiration settings applied to the individual card. For example, an agency might approve a client’s monthly advertising budget, divide it among search and social channels, and issue separate cards to the buyers responsible for those channels. The cards do not need to carry the full client budget. Their limits can be tied to the next review period, with additional funding released after performance and invoices are checked. (6/46)
