@DarthAstrius Check out Nextcloud Memories (https://memories.gallery/) and Immich (https://immich.app/) as alternatives to Google Photos. Proton Drive too, but seems you might know that already. I'm not sure the state of import features for these but you can export from Google Photos with a bunch of meta data in JSON files.

    @DarthAstrius@mastodon.social I also recommend sticking with apps that just store files in directories. Then you can use multiple frontends, with whatever features you need, and if everything disappears you still have your data, no export required! For example I use Nextcloud Notes. Its backend is just Markdown files in folders. I can share that between the Nextcloud notes Android app, and Iotas, Folio and Obsidian on my Linux desktop.
